Mata Veshno Devi Yatra is the dream
of every Hindu devotee. The holy shrine is one of the most sacred places for
Hindus nestled in the mighty Trikuta Mountain located 61 kilometer north of
Jammu. It is believed that whoever comes for the blessings of Maa Veshno Devi does
never go home empty handed. Mata Veshno Devi is believed to fulfill anything
and everything that a person wishes for in life, in a righteous way. Every wish
of a true devotee gets fulfilled here. Well, the faith in the deity is a great
example of quest and expression of one’s faith!
The beautiful shrine has a small cave
inside where Maa Veshno has killed the Tantrik Bhairav Nath. To reach this
divine cave, devotees have to indulge into a tough climb of 13 kilometers from
Katra. People take necessary rest at katra
hotels and kerala
hotels before
and fater the trekking. The city has a wide range of hotels to cater varying
needs of travelers. The best time for Veshno Devi Yatra is March to July, as
during the rest of the time it can be very cold. The main pilgrimage time is
March-April and September-October. However for a true devotee there is no
specific time to come and pay their homage to Maa Veshno Devi.
During a Veshno Devi trip, a devotee
also visits the Bhumika Temple, Ban Ganga Temple, Charan Paduka Temple, Ardh
Kuwari, the Sri Ram Temple, and the Bhairon (Bhairav) Temple. If you want to
explore other popular destination after Veshno Devi darshan, you better opt for
one of the custom-made Kashmir
tour packages.
Every year, thousands and thousands
of devotees come here to get the blessings of Maa. By looking at the crowd, one
is forced to think for a while about the faith amongst the devotees. In spite
of severe cold, landslide and huge distance, people from across the globe come
for a Veshno Devi Yatra.
