Lake Pichola, Udaipur: This beautiful, artificial fresh water lake is situated in Udaipur, well known for its mammoth size and marvellous panorama. Apart from that, three more islands named as Jag Niwas, Mohan Mandir and Arsi Vilas are situated in this age-old lake.
Dal Lake, Srinagar: the lake serves as one of the most tourist attraction in Kashmir, and is nicknamed as the ‘Jewel in the Crown of Kashmir’. Along with breathtaking panorama of lake and surrounding mountains, one can enjoy delightful Shikara ride in Dal Lake. Chandubi Lake, Kamrup, Assam: Calm, pristine and surrounded by deep forests, this lake is truly natural splendour in Indian state of Assam. It is one of the noted natural sights and picnic spot in Kamrup district. Also, the lake offers the visitors with good opportunity for boating and fishing.
Naini Lake, Nainital: A natural fresh water body in shape of a crescent or kidney, Naini Lake is one of the four lakes of Kumaon Hills. The lake is impressively beautiful and has a grand spiritual significance. It is bealived that the three sages Atri, Pulastya and Pulaha did tapas (meditation) here. Many of shirdi hotels and Nanital hotels are located nearby this lake offering quality stay for visitors.
Apart from that, the list contains Emerald Lake (Ooty), Kodaikanal Lake (Tamil Nadu) and Fateh Sagar Lake (Rajasthan).
