Goa’s beauty lies in its villages. Amazing scenery coupled with graceful
history and cultures, Goa’s villages allure a notable number of tourists. Walk
through a Goa village to comprehend true essence of this natural paradise. Here
in this blog, I’m depicting the Calangute Village Walk – one of Goa’s popular
walks, which takes you to amazing Goa attractions and gives the real pleasure
of a holiday. All you need to carry is a sun-hat, digi-camera, a packed lunch
and a local tourist guide.
The walk begins mainly at St Alex Church in Calangute’s
Umta Vaddo. Move ahead and explore hillock and greenery of the foothills. The
further walk takes you to a natural freshwater spring known as Mottant.
Moreover, a number of beautiful churches, scenic paddy field, low-roofed houses
and lovely water bodies will come to your way. During monsoon, the pleasure of
this walk doubles.
Nestled in Bardez Taluka in
North Goa, Calangute Village is 20 mins away from the market town of Mapusa. It
has easy connectivity to the capital city Panaji as well. This gorgeous village
is a traveler’s paradise, offering scenic sea-shore and several colonial
attractions to explore. Walking time is around 40-50 minutes, or depends upon
your own pace. Walk can be best enjoyed well before sun-set. To add more delights, hire a local
tourist guide. He/she will charge around INR 150 and can guide between 10 and
15 people at a time.
While
visiting Manali, it’s better to book your accommodation and other travel
facilities like Manali Hotels well in advance. Deals for manali
packages and manali
hotels are
available online. However, you can book a tour package to Manali which include
all travel facilities, and hence ensure a comfy Manali
honeymoon package.
